每隔一陣子，我就會收到類似下面邀請發表的信件：

This is Journal of XXX and XXX (ISSN ####-####), a professional journal published by Academic Star Publishing Company, USA. We have learned your paper “[PAPER TITLE]” in [CONFERENCE or JOURNAL TITLE]. We are very interested in publishing your latest paper in the Journal of [XXX and XXX]. If you have the idea of making our journal a vehicle for your research interests, please send the electronic version of your papers or books to us through email attachment in MS word format. All of your original papers which have not been published are welcome.
Hope to keep in touch by email and publish some papers or books from you and your friends in USA. As an American academic publishing group, we wish to become your friends if necessary. We also want to invite some people to be our reviewers or become our editorial board members. If you are interested in our journal, you can send your CV to us.

同一種類型的信收多了，就激起我的好奇心。一查之下，原來不少人都收到類似的信件。Academic Star Publishing Company 這家出版社專門出版各種期刊，同時有線上版與網路版。然而，如果你投稿到他們的期刊，要發表的時候，會收你每頁50美金的處理費。此外，網上許多人都收到同樣的訊息，只是期刊、編輯的名字換了。期刊的網站也常常是under construction，可信度很低！
